The bedroom is the most personal space of any household, whether it is for the bachelor living by their own means, or family members having their own places to rest and unwind. The bedroom is not just a place for rest, but it’s also a symbol for personal space of the person occupying it. The bedroom serves as a workspace, a place to chill and read, do gaming, or simply hang out with guests and friends all over.
Depending on the size and the amount of things you have in the bedroom, there might be varied ways to clean the bedroom. But for this time, we will give a rundown of the best hacks you can apply the next time you do your regular bedroom cleanup!
Always start from the ceiling
It may go mostly unnoticed, but the the ceiling actually accumulates a lot of dirt, mostly from dust particles that build up from your floor, seldom does moving things and when you open the window. Add in the build-up material from spiders, dust, etc., resulting in accumulation of dirt and cobwebs.
To start with, you can get a broom and start sweeping it upright. This is to catch all the dirt up on it and fall towards the floor. Just make sure that before cleaning, you have covered your bed
and other objects in the room to make sure they don’t collect dust as well. If the ceiling is reachable, you can also opt out for wiping the ceiling as well with a damp and
soapy cloth to freshen up the ceiling, as well as temporarily discourage the accumulation of dust and nasty creatures up there.
Sweep (and Mop!)
Most of the time, when we clean the floor it’s just all about just sweeping the floor, but really it’s also about cleaning it to discourage unwanted creature visitors. Aside from the dust
accumulated, some of the things that you might have missed may include crumbs from the food you ate, spilled drinks you haven’t noticed, lint from clothes and your bedsheets, scraps of paper and plastic, among other things.
The simplest way to start your bedroom cleaning is through sweeping the floor with a broom. Start off first with the corners and then make your way out to the door where you have a dust
scooper to collect the swept dust. If the sweeping isn’t enough, you can opt out for a hand-held vacuum cleaner to collect from nooks and crannies of your bedroom. And we haven’t settled yet, preparing for the mopping process, with choosing the perfect soap-water solution that not just smells nice but also allows us to properly clean the floor. To mop the floor, start with the farthest part to the part near your door. In that way, there would be an even cleaning the floor.
Wipe every surface
In your bedroom are a lot of surfaces: tabletops, cabinets, drawers, a chair, your make-up kit, a display cabinet: you name it. And that too can be a source of accumulated dirt from the outside
and even internally.
To start wiping off the surface of these objects, you need to be prepared with two types of rags: one that is dry and one that is damp. For objects that can be wiped wet and have accumulated
dirt, use the damp one to collect the dust away from those objects. Then, for objects that might need a light brush-off, you can use the dry rag to clean the objects. Please take note that there are other wiping techniques you can employ, including using isopropyl alcohol for surfaces you use the most, including the table top or your study desk in accordance with sanitary standards.
